Course Description Recommended Prior Learning

Have basic water confidence.


Students will learn basic kayaking, mountain biking and bush craft skills and gain proficiency in environmental skills. They will get experience in first aid and group work and apply the 'minimum impact code' in the outdoor situation. 

There is a 3 day Abel Tasman National Park sea kayaking and tramping camp and a day trip Mountain biking in Kaiteriteri in this program and students need to be willing to prepare and commit to this trip.

*Spaces may be limited and students will require approval from the Head of Outdoor Education to be considered for this course. If there is a lot of interest, an application form may be sent to parents and students who selected this course.
