10SOM1 - School of Music Vol 1

This is an entry level course designed for those who have limited prior experience in the subject and are motivated to build skills in music creation and performance.  It will include developing skills on their chosen instrument as well as composing simple pieces of music and responding to music from a variety of styles.

This module is the ideal option for those interested in developing the core skills learned in Year 9 101 Music.  The purpose of this course is to prepare students to take the Year 10 School of Music Vol 2 or Year 10 School of Rock module in the second half of the year.  This pathway will prepare them suitably for NCEA Music in Year 11.
