9FFT - Food for Thought

Course Description

Students will explore how the many ways the food we eat connects to the environment that sustains us. There is a focus on local, sustainable food with the concepts of manaakitanga and kaitiakitanga guiding our product design and development. Students will gain the skills they need to safely cook at home and for future Food Technology and Hospitality courses.
