Course Description

In Year 9 Spanish, students earn the basics of the Spanish language and culture of Spanish speaking countries. Students develop communication skills and they will be able to introduce themselves, talk about their families, describe people and animals in Spanish. In this module, students will be making comparison between the customs, tradition of Spanish speaking countries to their own.
Why studying Spanish at Nayland College?
Knowing Spanish will develop a better understanding of their own language and culture. They will also be more confident to express themselves and communicate to others.
Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world. It is the official language of 21 countries across the globe and it is widely spoken in the USA. Therefore, students will feel more globally connected by communicating in Spanish with Spanish speakers.
Note: To study Spanish in Year 10 and beyond, students must start in Year 9. Studying Spanish at school can lead to exchange opportunities.
