Students will benefit from having studied Technology Wood, Fashion & Design, or Design and Visual Communication at Year 9 or 10.
This course is an exciting mix of hard materials technology, electronics and design & visual communication. In the main unit of work, students will learn how to design and make a blue tooth speaker prototype. The module will also cover Taonga Pūoro (musical instruments of the Māori), computer aided design (CAD), laser cutting, design process, electronics and product design sketching. It would be a good lead in to either Year 11 Design & Visual Communication or Year 11 Product Development.
