Course Description Recommended Prior Learning

Students will benefit from having completed a junior Digital Technology module or similar previous experience.


Students will design and create digital technologies outcomes that are made by people, for people, within cultural, social, and environmental contexts that embody whanaungatanga. Students will learn about algorithms and computer science principles. They will develop basic programming skills, learn how to design and build a functional website, and will explore the topic of usability heuristics in human-computer interfaces. Students will learn to be innovative, reflective and critical in their development process while producing two major Computer Science projects.  


NB: This course uses 2 of the 3 Achievement Standards as Level 1 Digital Media so students will only be able to choose one of the two Digital Technologies options.
