Achievement in Year 10 Social Studies and English literacy assessments.


Sociology is the study of people, societies and social groups. The aim of Sociology is to understand and explain aspects of social behaviour and relationships. Topics covered in Year 11 Sociology include: 

Socialisation - How do we become members of the society we live in?

Gender - What is gender? How do we learn it? How is gender challenged and reinforced in popular culture?

Social Media - Carry out an Inquiry on the impact social media has had on modern society.

Social Action - Carry out a Social Action to address a current issue in our society.

Protest Movements - How has the Black Lives Matter movement attempt to address the issue of racism?
