Course Description Recommended Prior Learning

12 Level 2 Technology credits.



Design and development of innovative products that meet real needs is the main focus of this class. Students will develop skills and knowledge by working with a variety of materials, equipment and processes and producing two major technology projects . Students will learn to be innovative, reflective and critical in designing new products to benefit people. Students are encouraged to design for someone other than themselves for one of the units of work.


Course Overview

Term 1
Students develop a small laser cut product.

Term 2
Students design and develop their own conceptual designs.

Term 3
Students develop their own prototypes
