A willingness to be hands on, to learn from mistakes and use creative thinking.
Students will learn about fashion drawing, screen printing and other applied design methods, pattern and fabric knowledge, basic construction techniques using a sewing machine and other specialist equipment. These will enable students to use a design process to investigate real problems or opportunities and consider principals of kaitiakitanga/sustainability, to develop creative high-quality textile solutions.

Patternmaker, Artist, Tailor/Dressmaker, Textile Process Operator, Retail Sales Assistant, Cutter, Fashion Designer, Sewing Machinist, Graphic Designer, Interior Designer, Industrial Designer, Visual Merchandiser, Upholsterer, Garment Technician
Contributions and Equipment/StationeryStudents may need to provide some materials for their take home projects depending on their design.
