2ENGC - Level 2 English Communication Literacy

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Miss T. Harvey.

This course is ideal if you want to continue to develop your literacy and communication skills, but you do not plan on going to university.

Learning in this course focuses on real life reading and writing skills for communication. You will read and write short texts about real life situations based on work and life skills.

You will also have the opportunity to attempt a range of standards from the list below, but this will be tailored to your pathway choices and will be decided on in discussion with your teacher.

Standards for literacy:

If you need Level 1 literacy credits, you will have the opportunity to attempt either the literacy CAAs unit standards 32403 and 32405 if you have not already achieved these (note, the list below does not show these properly as literacy credits), or unit standards 30507 and 30511 (see below).

It is not intended that you will have the opportunity to gain UE literacy through this course. However, if you need the UE reading and writing credits, you may be able to attempt Unit Standards 22749 and 22751. You will need to discuss this with your teacher to ensure you have the skills for success.
