Course Description Recommended Prior Learning

Students will benefit from having studied Technology Wood or Technology Metal (Year 9 or 10), Year 9 Spatial Design, Year 9 Product Design, Year 10 Graphics, Year 10 Product Development, Year 10 Jewellery, or Year 10 Technology Textiles.


Students will develop and make innovative products within their field of interest for a chosen stakeholder. They will develop knowledge and skills around the effective use of design processes, material manipulation, research, Computer Aided Design (CAD), design drawing and using tools and equipment with precision.

Lighting project

Term 2
Lighting project & students will develop their own prototypes.

Term 3
Prototypes and external exam.

Assessment Information

This course is assessed using a mixture of internal assessments and an externally assessed exam in Term 3.
